CBT can also be used to help individuals cope better with the pain and discomfort caused by a range of medically unexplained illnesses or diagnosed conditions. These can include conditions such as fibromyalgia, myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and interstitial cystitis.

Our treatment plan would first consist of a thorough assessment. We would then develop a formulation together, exploring methods and coping techniques that you can utilise day to day.

There has been much research done into the effectiveness of using Mindfulness as a way to help cultivate coping strategies in response to pain management — however the suitability of this method of treatment would be decided on an individual basis.
